Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant curriculum is a competency-based course designed to prepare students with the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate care to patients in varied healthcare settings.

Students will engage with interactive videos learning first aid principles, diagnostic testing, and laboratory procedures. Emphasis will be placed on safety, medical law, and medical interventions.

 

​Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: NOCTI Medical Assisting and NHA CCMA. Ultimately, this course was designed to provide students with a competitive edge for entry into the healthcare global marketplace.​​​​

Nursing Assistant

This competency-based Nursing Assistant curriculum is designed to prepare students with knowledge of the basic nursing assistant skills that are necessary to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate care to patients in various healthcare settings. Students will engage with interactive videos while learning about infection control, personal care skills, mental health needs, and legal responsibilities. Using virtual reality, students will learn how to obtain and record standard vital signs, identify basic body parts, demonstrate wheelchair assistance and ambulation, and perform a modified bed bath.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: NOCTI Nursing Assisting and Skills USA Nursing Assistant.

This course is designed to provide students with a competitive edge for entry into the global healthcare marketplace.​​

Emergency Medical Response (EMR)

The Emergency Medical Response (EMR) curriculum is a comprehensive introduction to the knowledge and skills required to provide immediate care in medical emergencies. The themes of the lessons include CPR, basic wound care, patient stabilization, use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and safe operation within the EMR scope of practice. Instruction emphasizes emergency medical procedures, musculoskeletal system knowledge, and effective communication within emergency medical services (EMS) teams. Students will also study medicolegal responsibilities, Basic Life Support (BLS), and advanced care techniques.

Upon completion, students will be better prepared to meet the standards of the NHTSA National EMS Standards and gain practical skills that support broader emergency responder roles.

Agricultural Science

This competency-based Agricultural Science curriculum is a foundational course. The course introduces the major areas of scientific agricultural production and research, as well as introductory skills and knowledge in agricultural science and agricultural technologies.

 

​Using virtual reality, students will practice crop leaf identification, determining genotypes and phenotypes, determining medication dosages, vehicle maintenance, and financial applications in agriculture. Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: AEST Agritechnology and NOCTI Production Agriculture.

Animal Science

This competency-based Animal Science curriculum introduces students to the scientific principles of animal behavior, the growth and development of animals, and basic animal body systems. The scientific principles are applied in animal management, proper nutrition, and disease prevention.

 

Using virtual reality and interactive videos, students will practice basic livestock surgical procedures and injection techniques and understand the digestive system and basic animal terminology. Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the Elanco Fundamentals of Animal Science and NOCTI Animal Systems.

Veterinary Science

The Veterinary Science curriculum covers the basics of animal care. This competency-based course covers animal behavior, anatomical structures, animal body systems, safety, disease, parasites, feeding, animal control and restraint, and general animal care. Using virtual reality, students will practice equipment identification, standard veterinary procedures, filling prescriptions, and more.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: NOCTI Small Animal Science and Technology  and AAVSB Veterinary Technician National.

Biotechnology

This competency-based Biotechnology curriculum provides the students with a solid foundation in biotechnology. Students will engage in interactive videos designed to teach students about career paths, research, data analysis, laboratory safety, and the use of laboratory equipment in the field of biotechnology.

Additionally, students will examine topics that include Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), analysis of DNA structure, DNA replication, and the DNA purification process. Students will use virtual reality to demonstrate their knowledge of laboratory equipment by exploring the use of micropipettes, serological pipettes, and spectrophotometers. 

​

​Upon completion of this course, the students will be equipped with work-related knowledge and the skills necessary for careers in biotechnology. Upon completion of the course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Biotechnology Certification Exam.

Computer Coding

This competency-based Coding curriculum introduces computer programming concepts. In this course, students will learn basic programming concepts, terminology, and programming design. An emphasis will be placed on how to code programs, create testing plans, and write documentation. Using virtual reality, students will learn how to use variables, arrays, conditions, and loops when programming.

Using an interactive virtual reality learning environment, Learners will explore fundamental programming constructs, including variables, data types, arrays, conditional statements, loops, and basic functions. Through project-based experiences, students will create programs that respond to user input, make decisions, repeat actions, and manipulate data to solve real-world problems.

​Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Computer Programming certification exam.

Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity curriculum introduces students to the foundational concepts, tools, and practices used to protect information systems and networks from digital threats. The themes of the lessons include cybersecurity fundamentals, cybercrime awareness, risk management, incident response, secure network design, and ethical considerations. Through interactive lessons, hands-on exercises, and virtual simulations, students gain practical experience identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing threats, and implementing security measures aligned with industry standards.

 

Instruction incorporates real-world case studies and best practices from the CompTIA and NOCTI frameworks to develop technical and analytical skills relevant to today’s workforce. The goal is to build critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible technology use in safeguarding digital assets. Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared to pass the NOCTI Cybersecurity  Fundamentals certification exam and pursue entry-level positions in information security, network administration, and related technology fields.

Digital Media Production

The Digital Media Production curriculum aims to expand the personal, artistic, and technical knowledge needed to envision, plan, write, design, develop, implement, and update the text, graphics, audio, video, documents, and other interactive experiences that are captured within machine-readable data formats, or digital media. Students will practice analyzing current and emerging technologies to execute effective and captivating expressions of communication. Problem-solving strategies and execution models are practiced through the active exploration of project-based assignments.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Visual Communications and Multimedia Design and NOCTI Audio-Visual Communications.

Drone Pilot

This competency-based Drones curriculum is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills to obtain the Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot Certificate. In this course, students will engage in virtual reality and interactive videos designed to teach students the skills and qualities of a pilot. Students will learn how weather affects the drone and will develop an understanding of the physics involved with flying, and much more!

 

Students are immersed in topics that include emergency procedures, preflight inspection, radio communication, VLOS operations, sectional charts, aerial photography, and search and rescue operations.

​

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the FAA Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft System certification exam.

Electronics Technician

The electronics industry continues to grow, and so will the demand for people who work with electronics. This competency-based Electronics Curriculum is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of electronics, computer programming, and engineering design that will lay a foundation on which to build a solid knowledge base about robotics. Students will become immersed in topics that include Ohm’s Law, series and parallel circuits, direct and alternating current, DC motors, robot sensor operation, and much more!

The students will use interactive video and virtual reality to learn how to program a robot.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Electronics and NOCTI Electronics Technology.

Bakery & Pastry Chef

The Baking and Pastry curriculum is an introduction to the art and science of professional baking, focusing on the techniques, principles, and creativity required in the pastry industry. The themes of the lessons include baking fundamentals, kitchen safety and sanitation, ingredient functions, measurement and baking mathematics, mixing methods, leavening agents, and dough types. Students will also explore advanced skills such as pâte à choux preparation, cake decorating, custards, sourdough fermentation, and chocolate tempering.

​

Additional topics include dietary alternatives, international pastries, business operations, and the creative aspects of plating and presentation. The goal is to develop the technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge necessary for success in the baking and pastry field.

​​Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared to pass the NOCTI Retail Commercial Baking certification exam.

Culinary Arts 101

This competency-based Culinary Arts 101 curriculum provides an overview of the basic culinary fundamentals  and standard practices leading to a career pathway in Culinary Arts. In this course, students will learn culinary techniques, such as knife handling skills and the recognition, selection, and proper use of tools and equipment. An emphasis will be placed on identifying and preparing a variety of foods and recipes, as well as mastering conversions through the use of proper scaling and measurement techniques.

Using virtual reality, students will prepare standard recipes while effectively managing time, accurately measuring ingredients, and appropriately using kitchen equipment.

Food safety and sanitation techniques will align with industry-recognized certifications.

​

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Food Handler, and NOCTI Culinary  Arts Prep Cook.

This competency-based Culinary Arts 102 curriculum builds on the basic culinary fundamentals and standard practices that lead to a career in culinary arts. Students will expand their culinary knowledge by learning how to make desserts, appetizers, salads, seafood, soups, and sauces. They will also learn how to recognize, select, and properly use tools and equipment. An emphasis will be placed on identifying and preparing a variety of foods and recipes from different regional cuisines.

Using virtual reality, students will prepare a variety of recipes while effectively managing time, accurately measuring ingredients, and appropriately using kitchen equipment. Food safety and sanitation techniques will align with industry- recognized certifications.

Upon completing this course, students will be better prepared for the following exams: NOCTI Commercial Foods and NOCTI Culinary Arts Cook.

Introduction to Electrical

This competency-based Electrical curriculum is designed to teach students the concepts of basic electricity and safety. Students will learn and apply the knowledge and skills necessary to install switches, receptacles, dimmers, switch boxes, and more! Through interactive videos and virtual reality, students will learn electrical circuits, transformers, conductors, resistors, and the tools used in the industry.

 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing electrical tasks.

  • Identify and explain the function of basic electrical components, including circuits, conductors, resistors, transformers, switches, and receptacles.

  • Interpret electrical symbols, diagrams, and basic wiring schematics.

  • Use common electrical tools and testing equipment safely and accurately.

  • ​

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following exams: NCCER Electrical Level 1, NOCTI Electrical Construction Technology, and HBI House Wiring Basic.

Electrical Helper Program (EHP)

The EHP Program is our most comprehensive, first-of-its- kind virtual reality training program that offers point-of-view 3D Video, Full Simulation Training, and a Reference Library, all followed by Hands-On Learning.  Our VR curriculum offers 64 lessons with 140 VR simulations using digital tools.

 

Our Hands-On curriculum standards ensure students can demonstrate proficiency in what they learned in the digital world by transferring that learning to the real world using real tools.

Upon completion, students will earn a NOCTI VR Completion Certificate, a NOCTI Electrical Helper Certification, and be better prepared for the NCCER Electrical Level 1 certification exam.

HVAC 101

The HVAC 101 curriculum is a competency-based course that provides the students with a solid foundation in HVAC. Students will engage in virtual reality and interactive videos designed to teach students the primary duties of an HVAC technician, including identifying parts, the sequence of operations, troubleshooting, finances, and air conditioning.

 

Additionally, students will examine basic electricity, heating, cooling, and fundamental copper and plastic piping practices. Students will learn worksite and personal safety components and basic mathematical operations throughout the course.

​

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: NCCER HVACR Level 1, and NOCTI HVACR Service & Repair.

This competency-based HVAC 102 curriculum is preceded by HVAC I. This course builds on the student’s knowledge of electricity, heating, cooling, air distribution, equipment, and air quality. Using interactive videos and virtual reality, students will practice testing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, enabling the students to perform routine maintenance on these systems.

 

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: NCCER HVACR Level 2 and NOCTI HVACR Installation & Start-Up.

Plumbing

This competency-based Plumbing curriculum introduces students to the foundational skills of the plumbing trade. Topics covered include general plumbing practices, drainage, traps, water systems, estimating, and storing materials used in plumbing.

 

Using interactive videos and virtual reality, students will practice interpreting construction drawings related to plumbing installation, joining pipes and fittings, installing fixtures, and plumbing service and repair.

 

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Plumbing certification exam.

Welding

This competency-based Welding curriculum is designed to provide students with knowledge of the basic manufacturing processes, properties of metals, and safe operating skills needed to demonstrate the use of equipment in oxyfuel, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).

​

The students will use virtual reality to perform oxyfuel cuts, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). The students will perform welds using SMAW and GMAW to current industry standards. Welding symbols will be used to interpret detailed drawings used for fabrication.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: HBI PACT Core and NOCTI Welding.

Carpentry

This competency-based Carpentry curriculum provides the students with a solid foundation in carpentry. Students will engage in virtual reality and interactive videos designed to teach students how to use basic measuring tools, hand tools, and machines commonly used in carpentry, to construct basic projects.

Additionally, students will examine various wood construction materials and their properties. Throughout the course, students will learn components of site and personal safety, and how to interpret detailed drawings used for construction.

Upon completion of this course, the students will be better prepared for the following certification exams: HBI PACT Core, NCCER Carpentry  Level 1, and NOCTI Carpentry.

Construction Safety

Learning the safety basics is critical, as construction sites can be hazardous. This competency-based Construction Safety curriculum is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge to function safely on and around a construction site.

Students will become immersed in topics that include an introduction to OSHA, foundations of safety, job safety, safety regulations, equipment safety, and much more! The students will use interactive videos and virtual reality to identify job site hazards and act upon the proper resolutions to correct the hazards.

​

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared to meet the standards of OSHA Regulations 1926 and the NOCTI Construction Principles certification exam.

Criminal Justice

This competency-based Criminal Justice curriculum is designed to provide students with an overview of the criminal justice system. In the Criminal Justice course, students will engage in virtual reality and interactive videos designed to test their  visual memory and ability to apply their skills to effectively manage a crime scene. Students will become immersed in topics that include criminal and constitutional law, security, and communications.

Students will review basic law enforcement skills, which cover tactics, methods, and skills utilized by law enforcement. These concepts should be taken into consideration when taking this course and assessing implementation options.

Students will also learn how to make informed consumer choices and maximize their credit.

Personal Finance

The Personal Finance curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in financial literacy. Students will engage in virtual reality and interactive videos designed to teach financial responsibility, decision-making, money management, and investing. In addition, the course covers credit, debt, risk management, insurance, strategies for becoming an informed consumer, and much more.

Building on concepts and skills throughout their school years will prepare high school graduates to successfully navigate the financial challenges of our fast-paced economy, developing their confidence that will empower them to make wise financial choices.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Personal Finance Foundations certification exam.

Early Childhood Education

This foundational course prepares students for employment in early childhood education and services. This Early Childhood Education curriculum provides students with an opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors associated with supporting and promoting optimal growth and development of infants, toddlers, and children.

An emphasis will be placed on health and safety, cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development.

Students will build on the developmental factors to develop stakeholder relationships and create a positive learning environment using an effective curriculum. Using virtual reality, students will practice curriculum planning, room arrangement, presenting a lesson, and engaging in a gross motor stretching activity to engage children.

Upon completion of this course, students will be better prepared for the NOCTI Early  Childhood Education and Care – Basic certification exam.

The Art of Taekwondo: Yellow Belt

The Tenets of Taekwondo include Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self- control, and Indomitable Spirit. This curriculum provides students with an opportunity to use these tenets as they learn the original Taekwondo from an 8th Degree Back Belt, Grand Master, who is a 9-time U.S. Open Grand Champion.

 

An emphasis will be placed on Taekwondo basic movements, patterns, blocking, and kicking techniques. Using virtual reality, students will practice these Taekwondo basic movements, which have been designed to perfect their skills and to prepare them to test for their yellow belt.
